Ultimagz merupakan sebuah majalah kampus independen yang berlokasi di Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN). Ultimagz pertama kali terbit pada tahun 2007. Saat itu, keluarga Ultimagz generasi pertama berhasil menerbitkan sebuah majalah yang bertujuan membantu mempromosikan kampus. Ultimagz saat itu juga menjadi wadah pelatihan menulis bagi mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi (FIKOM) dan non-FIKOM.
Berdirinya Ultimagz kala itu mendapat dukungan dari Bertha Sri Eko selaku Kepala Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi yang menjadikan Ultimagz berada di bawah naungan FIKOM UMN. Ultimagz sempat menggunakan slogan “Young Journalist Talk”. Namun, slogan tersebut tidak lagi digunakan karena pembaca dan anggota Ultimagz bukan hanya berasal dari jurusan Jurnalistik, melainkan dari semua jurusan di UMN.
Lambat laun, peliputan Ultimagz merambah ke berbagai bidang, baik di dalam maupun luar kampus. Tidak hanya meliput suatu kegiatan atau acara, Ultimagz juga banyak membahas dan mengkritisi isu kampus, sosial, dan lingkungan. Ultimagz menyadari peran media massa penting sebagai watchdog atau anjing penjaga. Oleh karena itu, hasil peliputan Ultimagz kerap membawa perubahan bagi kampus.
Ultimagz konsisten berkarya hingga saat ini dengan menerbitkan produk jurnalistik berupa majalah cetak, majalah digital melalui platform Issuu, dan portal daring www.ultimagz.com. Ultimagz juga terus berinovasi dengan menciptakan produk-produk berita yang lain, seperti infografik, visual interaktif Fokus (fokus.ultimagz.com), majalah digital interaktif, dan video di kanal Youtube.
Dengan slogan “Salam Deadline!”, Ultimagz menjadi wadah bagi anggotanya untuk mengembangkan minat dan bakatnya dalam berbagai bidang terkait pembuatan majalah dan portal berita daring. Ultimagz juga berusaha membuka wawasan yang lebih luas dan meningkatkan kekritisan pembacanya melalui pemberitaan yang sesuai dengan kaidah jurnalistik, kritis, dan inovatif.
Konsistensi tim Ultimagz dari generasi ke generasi telah melahirkan beberapa prestasi, di antaranya:
