SERPONG, ULTIMAGZ.com – JTBC telah menayangkan drama Korea (drakor) Family by Choice sejak Oktober 2024 lalu dan direncanakan berakhir pada November 2024 dengan 16 episode. Serial ini merupakan remake dari drama China popular Go Ahead yang tayang pada 2020 lalu.
Disutradarai oleh Kim Seung-ho, Family by Choice dibintangi oleh Hwang In-yeop sebagai Kim San-ha, Jung Chae-yeon sebagai Yoon Joo-won, dan Bae Hyun-sung sebagai Kang Hae-joon, dilansir dari cnnindonesia.com.

Garis besar jalan cerita Family by Choice berpusat pada kehidupan Yoon Joo-won, Kim San-ha, dan Kang Hae-joon yang telah tumbuh bersama sejak kecil.
Melalui perjalanan mereka, drama ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana ikatan keluarga dan cinta bisa terbentuk dari hubungan yang tak terduga.
Mengutip detik.com, drama ini diawali dari cerita Joo-won, gadis tangguh dan energik yang hidup berdua bersama ayahnya, Yoon Jong-jae yang menjalankan restoran kalguksu. Meskipun selalu ceria, ada kalanya Joo-won yang merupakan anak tunggal berharap memiliki saudara.
Keinginan Joo-won pun terkabul ketika ia bertemu dengan San-ha, anak tetangga baru di lingkungan rumahnya, dan Hae-joon yang akhirnya dititipkan dan dirawat oleh ayahnya karena latar belakang keluarganya yang rumit.
Sejak saat itulah Joo-won menganggap mereka sebagai kakak-kakaknya. Mereka selalu bersikeras memperkenalkan satu sama lain sebagai saudara setiap ada yang menanyakan hubungan mereka.
Pertemanan mereka pun menjadi semakin ramai ketika memasuki Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Masa remaja yang menyenangkan diselimuti dengan kembalinya kerumitan dari masa lalu dan tumbuhnya benih-benih cinta monyet.
Di SMA Haedong tempat mereka bersekolah, Joo-won dikenal sebagai adik dari Hae-joon, si atlet sekolah yang bersinar, dan San-ha yang cerdas dan penuh pesona.
Selain kakak-kakaknya, Joo-won juga bersahabat baik dengan Park Dal (Seo Ji-hye), gadis pintar pemalu yang diam-diam menyukai Haejoon.
Serial keluarga bergenre drama dan romansa-komedi ini menghadirkan konflik latar belakang tokoh-tokoh utamanya yang dibesarkan dari keluarga disfungsional.
Akting dari para aktor dapat membuat Ultimates merasakan emosi para remaja tanggung saat mencoba menghadapi masalahnya sendiri sambil mencoba saling memahami dan mendukung “saudaranya” dalam menghadapi masalah keluarga yang kompleks.
