SERPONG, ULTIMAGZ.com – Wilayah pesisir yang tidak pernah absen dari ancaman tsunami dan megathrust menjadikan Gugus Mitigasi Lebak Selatan (GMLS) harus selalu aktif memberikan edukasi akan pentingnya persiapan mitigasi bencana kepada masyarakat sekitarnya.
Program “Nyegah Bala Laut” yang digagas oleh GMLS dan mahasiswa Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah inovatif dalam mengedukasi masyarakat pesisir Desa Situregen, Lebak Selatan.
Acara ini berhasil mengintegrasikan edukasi mitigasi bencana melalui pendekatan kreatif dalam kegiatan lokakarya desain kaos.

Melalui lokakarya, peserta tidak hanya mengasah kemampuan desain tetapi juga memahami langkah kesiapsiagaan menghadapi bencana.
Hasil karya desain kaos menjadi alat komunikasi visual yang efektif untuk menyebarkan pesan penting kepada masyarakat lebih luas.
Tidak hanya itu, kegiatan ini juga membuka peluang ekonomi kreatif bagi pemuda desa, sebagaimana yang disampaikan oleh Abah Lala selaku Ketua GMLS.
“Kegiatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang kesiapsiagaan tsunami, tetapi juga memberikan peluang ekonomi baru bagi pemuda melalui produksi kaos mitigasi,” terangnya.
Dalam program ini, komunitas pemuda seperti Karang Taruna dan Forum Pengurangan Risiko Bencana (FPRB) berperan sebagai penggerak utama.
Partisipasi aktif ini pun mendapat apresiasi besar dari berbagai pihak, termasuk Deni Apriatna, Ketua Desa Tangguh Bencana (DESTANA).
Dalam pernyataannya, ia menegaskan bahwa selain menjadi desainer, para pemuda juga bertugas menjadi agen informasi yang menyebarkan pengetahuan mitigasi kepada komunitasnya.
“Pemuda tidak hanya belajar desain, tetapi juga memahami konsep mitigasi bencana seperti gempa bumi dan tsunami. Mereka kini menjadi penyampai informasi yang efektif di komunitas,” tuturnya.
Dokumentasi berupa film dokumenter yang menyorot kegiatan Karang Taruna selama program berjalan turut memperkuat upaya edukasi dan solidaritas masyarakat dalam menghadapi bencana.

Menurut keterangan Abah Lala, program “Nyegah Bala Laut” menunjukkan pentingnya kerja sama lima elemen pentahelix (pemerintah, akademisi, komunitas, media, dan sektor usaha) dalam membangun ketangguhan masyarakat.
Pendekatan kreatif dan pemberdayaan pemuda diharapkan dapat memperkuat kesiapsiagaan masyarakat pesisir.
Keberhasilan program ini menjadi inspirasi untuk melanjutkan edukasi mitigasi di masa depan sekaligus menjadikan pemuda sebagai ujung tombak dalam membangun komunitas yang lebih tangguh.
“Nyegah Bala Laut” adalah bukti nyata bahwa kolaborasi dan inovasi dapat melahirkan solusi efektif untuk mengatasi ancaman bencana di masyarakat pesisir.
