SERPONG, ULTIMAGZ.com – Pasangan seluncur indah, Papadakis/Cizeron berhasil meraih medali emas di Olimpiade Beijing 2022 pada Senin (14/01/22) kemarin. Pasangan asal Prancis ini memenangkan pertandingan dengan total skor 226.98 dari gabungan program rhythm dance dan free dance.
“Olimpiade ini sangat berbeda dari empat tahun lalu,” kata Cizeron kepada wartawan setelah pertandingan, dilansir dari eurosport.
Gabriella Papadakis dan Guillaume Cizeron telah mengukir sejarah dengan mendapatkan poin tertinggi sepanjang masa dalam program rhythm dance pada Sabtu (12/01/22) lalu. Membawakan medley lagu-lagu milik John Legend yaitu “Made to Love” dan “U Move, I Move”, pasangan dengan empat gelar kejuaraan dunia ini berhasil mencetak 90.83 poin. Gerakan anggun dari keduanya berhasil memukau para juri dan penonton.

Dari program free dance yang diadakan, mereka berhasil tambahan 136.15 poin dan akhirnya menaiki podium sebagai juara pertama. Menampilkan irama piano dan selo yang dramatis dari lagu “Elegie” karya Gabriel Faure, duo yang satu ini menari dengan halus dengan gerakan menggoda di atas gelanggang es. Penampilan ini menuai sorakan para penonton yang terpukau.
Poin gabungan dari kedua program tersebut menjadi rekor dunia cabang olahraga seluncur indah dalam kategori ice dance. Rekor ini mengalahkan skor tertinggi mereka sendiri yaitu 226.61 poin di ajang NHK Trophy pada 2019.

Kemenangan tim yang sudah bersama selama 15 tahun ini menjadi langkah besar dalam karir mereka, apalagi sejak Olimpiade Pyeongchang. Pada kompetisi tahun 2018 itu, keduanya harus mengakui keunggulan pasangan asal Kanada, Tessa Virtue dan Scott Moir. Malfungsi busana yang dikenakan Gabriella kala itu diduga menjadi alasan pasangan ini belum berhasil memboyong medali emas.
“Kami sangat senang dengan penampilan kami, jadi memang, ini adalah sedikit balas dendam (setelah malfungsi busana 4 tahun lalu).” lanjut pria kelahiran 1994 itu.

Pertandingan seluncur indah kategori ice dance juga dimenangkan oleh Sinitsina/Katsalapov asal Rusia yang meraih medali perak dengan total skor 220.51. Sedangkan peringkat ketiga diduduki pasangan asal Amerika Serikat, Madison Hubbell dan Zachary Donohue yang mencetak 218.02 poin.
Papadakis/Cizeron masih akan menampilkan tarian pada malam gala yang akan diadakan pada 20 Februari mendatang.
